Aztec Sickness (Save the Geoglyphs)
Jess Fig Jesus Chuey Zapata Figueroa lays down some sick tracks in support of ancient geoglyphs threatened by large solar development. This video is shot at the Blythe Intaglios, giant human figures visible from space, and related to hundreds of others populating the desert along the Colorado River from Needles to Yuma. Geoglyphs are also found outside San Diego, and East as far as the Phoenix area in Arizona. Filmmaker Robert Lundahl worked with Jess Fig to show these ancient features in the video, highlighting aerial photography and Native ceremonies he filed in 2010 and 2011. This footage of previously un photographed geoglyphs is one of a kind, and may be the only and last if utility scale solar projects are built in the area.
